Point Pinole Shoreline

This beautiful park is less than an hour from Castro Valley and the perfect place to walk on a sunny day. Whether looking for a walk or bike through grasslands, trees, or a beach stroll, you won’t be disappointed! You’ll walk through bits of history from the Gold Rush days, early railroad work, and see old machinery from explosives factories! Because it’s mostly flat and has a good amount of paved pathways, it’s a great choice for everyone.

On foggy days, it can be windy and cold so bundle up! We think the views are worth it and quite spectacular when the wind makes the water sparkle and it looks like you can reach out and touch the Marin headlands across the bay.

Take a picnic if you go – there are plenty of places to have your lunch or snack.
